AI

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the English term for KI (Künstliche Intelligenz) and refers to technologies that computer systems can use to analyze data, recognize patterns and derive results or decisions from them.

Functionality and Use

Artificial intelligence is used in areas such as automation, data analysis or digital assistance systems. Many applications use machine learning to learn from data and continuously improve their results by analyzing large amounts of data, recognizing patterns, predicting, or deriving recommendations for actions. Based on this, content can be generated, processes can be automated, or decisions can be supported.

Models are developed using training data and then applied to new data. Depending on the task, different algorithms are used to process the input and calculate the appropriate results.

Types

  • Weak AI: The system specializes in a specific task, such as voice assistants or referral systems.
  • Strong AI: This term refers to a hypothetical form of artificial intelligence characterized by human-like, general intelligence and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Super intelligence: This term means a hypothetical system that clearly surpasses human cognitive abilities in practically all areas.

Examples

  • Chatbots answer support requests
  • Voice assistants understand voice commands
  • AI recognizes faces in pictures
  • Referral systems suggest films
