Contentful is a cloud-based headless content management system (CMS) that allows digital content to be created, managed and delivered to various applications and platforms via interfaces.
Functionality and Use
In contrast to classic content management systems, Contentful separates the management of content from its presentation in the frontend. Content is stored in a structured manner and can be integrated into websites, mobile apps or other digital applications via APIs. This allows content to be used flexibly across different channels.
Contentful organizes content in so-called content models. This content can be delivered to various applications via programming interfaces (APIs). Developers determine how content is displayed, while editors can create and maintain content independently of the frontend.
